Our Melbourne showroom is open 6 days a week to work with you in person or if you are based in a regional area or interstate, we can work through options over the phone or by email. We have a full range of samples available for loan so you can confidently select your ideal rug or carpet.
We’re also available for ongoing care and support, whether it’s regular maintenance or more urgent assistance. Our high quality products are naturally very durable but the right care will prolong their lifetime and keep your rugs or carpets looking beautiful.
Custom made rugs

In addition to our standard ranges, we offer a fully bespoke service for rugs and carpets spanning across private and commercial applications. You are welcome to come to us with a design in mind or we can work with you using colour references, fabrics and other finishes to build a concept. Using premium natural fibres and the skills of our experienced craftspeople, we can guide you through the diversity of styles and techniques available to create a truly unique piece for your space.
When considering a bespoke design or custom material composition, we can provide you with a sample for your approval prior to production and for specific projects, a rendering of the design to help you contextualise the finished piece.
Once the sample or rendering has been approved, production begins with every aspect of your order being considered. As a bespoke piece, extra care is taken across all stages of production, from the dyeing of selected material in your custom colour to the multiple quality control checks made before being ready for delivery.
Sample and Rug Home Trial
We understand that it can be difficult to choose a rug without seeing it in your home first and considering it amongst the rest of your furniture and finishes. We offer sample loans as well as overnight rug loans of stock pieces so you can feel confident in your selection.
Editorial Styling Loan & Commercial Rug Hire
Our products are available to loan for editorial styling or to hire for commercial photoshoots. Please contact us to discuss your project as each request is individually considered based on suitability and to prevent conflicts of interest. We look forward to hearing from you.
Rug & Carpet Sourcing
With artisan makers, manufacturers and industry partners all around the world, we can generally find and source whatever product you require. Regular requests include vintage overdyed rugs, genuine Moroccan Beni Ourain pieces, vintage Tuareg mats and carpets from the UK and the USA that aren’t available through local distribution.
Care and maintenance
Halcyon Lake offers a broad range of rugs and carpets which are made with a variety of techniques, constructions and materials. To prolong the life of your rug or carpet, we recommend following our care guidelines and maintenance tips available to download on our resources page.
Professional Cleaning
For our Melbourne-based clients, we recommend using Yellow Brick Road as they are familiar with how to best care for the materials in our range. They offer a collection and redelivery service. If you are interstate, we can facilitate transport and cleaning with Yellow Brick Road, please contact us for a quote based on your requirements.
