Setting itself apart from conventional retail, Assembly Label’s Albert Park boutique was conceived as a destination. One that blurs the line between fashion, lifestyle and home. Designed to feel lived-in rather than transactional, the space invites visitors to slow down, settle in and experience the store as they would a friend’s house.

At the heart of the design is the concept of an Assembly House: a series of interconnected spaces that echo the rhythm of a home. Each zone is grounded by texture and materiality, with curated rugs and carpets playing a central role in shaping both atmosphere and flow. Underfoot, soft woven surfaces create a sense of warmth and familiarity, encouraging movement through the space while subtly defining areas for gathering, browsing and pause.
Rather than acting as a backdrop, the Vollo Marigold Carpet and Chromatic Duo I Meadow Rug chosen has become integral to the way the showroom is experienced absorbing sound, softening transitions and reinforcing the feeling of home. The result is a retail environment that prioritises comfort and connection, where material craftsmanship is felt as much as it is seen.

“We did this by creating walk in wardrobes – not change rooms, lounge spaces not showrooms, and working with local furniture and lighting suppliers to make the space feel like an extension of a home. The makers pieces such as furniture, lighting, rugs and artwork are also available to purchase, creating a unique in-store experience.”
