RIB Fine Dark Blue

Designed in collaboration with Hamburg-based interdisciplinary design studio Besau-Marguerre, RIB is a series of colour-contrasting, three-dimensional rugs with strong rib detailing.

Through experimentation and research into materials and craftsmanship, an innovative combination of two weaving techniques was used; a rib weave and a double weave. The ribbed weave forms the protruding ribs, which, through the use of a large number of weft threads are then knotted to form the fringe detail. The flat stripes between are handwoven in a fine double weave, allowing for the texture and colour contrast to be possible. Handmade in India using high-quality wool yarn, the RIB collection is available in two sizes with three rib variants; fine, medium and double.
