Massal 60D

Our Massal collection is crafted in the Gilan province of Northern Iran and is named after one of the small villages there. These rugs are handmade using weaving techniques from three different areas in Northern iran: Kordi, Gilaki and Azeri Turki, traditionally used for blankets and heavy warm clothing for the shepherds. Massal rugs are woven on small narrow looms and sewed together to create the desired size.

About the designer

Edelgrund

Founded in 2013 by a collective of Iranian rug makers and designers, Edelgrund merges traditional Persian craftsmanship with an expressive and modern interpretation. With over three generations in rug making, Edelgrund’s unique creations are strongly anchored in Persian culture.

Their colourful designs creatively combine colours, patterns and linear elements into complex compositions that blend perfectly to create unique, timeless floor coverings.
