Marmara Kilim 5
Marmara kilims are handmade in the North Western coast of Turkey, a region known for this particular type of flatweave.
Handmade from recycled fabrics, cotton, wool and goat hair, these kilims were crafted with local materials that were on hand and typically used as floor coverings, bed spreads or as outdoor ground covers. Each Marmara kilim is unique, with colours, hues and patterns resulting from the original fabrics used. Woven on traditional narrow looms into long strips, these are then carefully hand sewn together to create a colourful composition.
