Anatolian Avanos rugs originate from Emirgazi, a small village of the Avanos region in South-central Turkey. Meticulously hand-knotted in the homes of local weavers according to an ancient weaving technique, Anatolian Avanos rugs are characterised by a distressed look unlike any other classic rugs. Crafted using pure new wool and dyed with natural vegetable dyes, each rug is a one-of-a kind creation featuring simplified traditional symbols and medallion elements in contrasting vibrant colours.
