Founded in 2001 by Jose Vandenbussche, JOV recently relocated its rug production to Portugal, allowing the team greater visibility and hands-on involvement in the process. By overseeing every stage of craftsmanship, Vandenbussche ensures JOV maintains meticulous control, enabling thoughtful adjustments and customisation throughout the making of each piece.

Every JOV rug starts with materials chosen with intention and care, drawing from the finest sources around the world. Quality and sustainability guide each selection, whether the pure softness of New Zealand wool, the resilience of Merino, the subtle lustre of Mohair and natural silk or the quiet strength of cotton, Tencel Lyocell and Belgian linen. Together these natural yarns create a palette as rich and varied as the landscapes from which they come.

Tufting, achieved with a specialised tufting gun, threads yarn through a primary base material to create the rug’s surface. Depending on the technique, the yarn is either cut or left in loops, producing two distinct textures and styles.
