Though related in appearance to Beni Ourains, Beni M’rirt rugs, both vintage and new, have distinctive features. These richly toned rugs have a different knot and a thinner wool yarn; newer versions tend to be more densely woven with a medium pile. With a sumptuous texture and often larger in scale than Beni Ourains. Whether vintage or new Beni M’rirt are always made by hand according to traditional Berber weaving techniques.
