Karaoke Gold is part of Reuber Henning’s ‘Lost in Translation’ collection, inspired by the movie of the same name. The colourful lights of Tokyo, among which Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray lose themselves in the film, form the backdrop for this collection. Designs in the collection such “Karaoke Gold” , “Whisper” and “Lights” are based on crucial scenes in the film and are a nod to old 19th century rugs from Anatolia. The reinterpretation of traditional elements in a modern style results in rugs with a classical background and surprising patterns and colour combinations. Reaching well beyond their origins, they have an expression and appearance of their own. All designs focus on the star, symbol of justice, protection and guidance.

About the designers

Founded in Germany in 2007, Reuber Henning exemplifies hand-made design, in both form and philosophy. They know that a beautiful rug forms the heart of a room, and creates a warm, comfortable atmosphere essential to every home. Committed to understated artisanship – their rugs are made in Nepal by ancient techniques – Reuber Henning balances this approach with designs that are classic contemporary, capturing the spirit of the times. In fair working conditions local craftspeople use high-quality Chinese silk and Tibetan highland wool, working completely by hand at every stage of the process to ensure longevity of their product.
